What to Do in a Dental Emergency

Toothache: Rinse your mouth with warm water and gently floss to remove any debris.

Knocked-Out Tooth: Handle the tooth by the crown (top), wipe it gently with tissue without scrubbing or using water, and try to place it back in the socket. If that’s not possible, store it in milk and seek immediate dental care.

Broken Tooth: Rinse your mouth with warm water and apply a cold compress to reduce swelling. Save any broken pieces and bring them to your appointment.

Lost Filling or Crown: Keep the area clean and avoid chewing on that side. Over-the-counter dental cement, Vaseline or toothpaste can be used as a temporary measure.
